It’s no secret that Ben Affleck is big fan of the Nike SB Dunk. One of the biggest sneakerheads in Hollywood, he’s been spotted in everything from the “Chunky Dunky” and the “What the P-Rod” to the absurdly rare “Friends & Family” edition of the 2021 Parra collab. But just when we all thought he was all flexed out, the two-time Oscar winner pulled the legendary Nike SB Dunk Low “Eire” out from the archives. And it’s probably one of his biggest pick-ups to date.

If you’ve never heard of the “Eire” before, that’s probably because it’s widely regarded as one of the rarest SB Dunks of all-time. Inspired by Ireland and its fight for independence in 1916, the sneaker dropped in 2006 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of this uprising. Unlike most Dunks, which are constructed mainly of leather, this special version flipped the script with a buttery full suede build.

Befitting its Irish inspiration, the shoes are decked out in the colors of the country’s flag—the trídhathach—with an off-white base and panels of deep green bisected by a fiery orange Swoosh. The theme is further explored with an Irish Harp stitched on the lateral heel and “Éire,” the Gaelic word for Ireland, embroidered across the back in place of the standard Nike branding.

At this point, it’s not that surprising that Affleck owns such a rare Nike release. This is the same guy who not only directed and produced 2023’s Air, but also starred in it as Nike co-founder Phil Knight. The real question now is: which sneakers doesn’t he own?
